We’re now looking for a Commercial Legal Counsel to join the team in Stockholm!
About the Role
To strengthen our team, we’re looking for an experienced lawyer to support the global organization with advice on various legal matters. This mainly includes commercial agreements (tech and IT, commercial partnerships etc), tech-related regulatory matters, and intellectual property law; however, no day will be like the other. You’ll likely spend most of your time on:
Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating various commercial agreements, including licensing agreements, commercial partnership agreements, etc.
Supporting and advising in tech/product development projects.
Assisting and supporting in regulatory matters (such as data protection, AI regulation, Digital Services Act, etc.).
As part of the Global Legal Team, you’ll also encounter several other fields of law and should be comfortable in investigating and advising in areas of law outside your main area of expertise.
About the Team
Our dynamic team is based at Storytel’s headquarters in Stockholm, consisting of five lawyers and headed by our General Counsel. The team plays a pivotal role in supporting the business objectives. Our goal is to be a trusted and valuable partner to our colleagues in the international organization, providing strategic and hands-on legal support across all areas within Storytel's footprint.
About You
To be successful and thrive in this role, we believe that you enjoy working in a team. You have the ability to manage multiple projects at once while at the same time driving projects independently. We also believe that you have:
A Swedish LL.M (Jur. kand./Juristexamen) or international equivalent such as J.D. degree.
At least 5 years of law firm and/or solid in-house lawyer experience with a main focus on commercial agreements, IT contracts, tech-related regulations, as well as intellectual property law (mainly copyright).
Outstanding written and oral communication skills on a professional level, both in English and Swedish.
Excellent analytical skills and ability to give hands-on practical advice to different types of stakeholders.
Sound business judgment, project leadership skills, and ability to think strategically.
Excellent organizational skills.
An interest in the publishing and streaming industry.
And for some bonus points:
Experience from working with competition law, consumer and marketing law and M&A.
A genuine interest in AI.
Professional language skills in other languages besides Swedish and English.
