About the role

As a Design System Lead, you will be the guardian of our component systems for web and apps. Ensuring it remains a reliable, up-to-date resource across the product design and tech team. You will collaborate closely with designers and developers to maintain, evolve, and advocate for the system's principles and components and their proper implementation. 

A part of your time will be dedicated to directly supporting designers in their projects, providing swift consultation while translating their needs into the design system when needed. This ensures seamless integration and alignment, reducing friction and empowering the design team to focus on solving user problems creatively. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and quality of the user experience. The System Design Lead is pivotal in empowering the design team to focus on solving user problems creatively while ensuring alignment with the broader product vision.

By maintaining and evolving the design system, you will ensure:

• Faster and more efficient design processes and development process.

• Consistent and high-quality user experiences across products.

About the team

As a Design System Lead, you will be a key member of our talented product design team, working alongside user researchers and other designers. By collaborating with your team, you will support ongoing projects while simultaneously developing and refining our design system. Close collaboration with our front-end engineers will ensure a seamless transition from design to implementation.

About you

To excel in this role, you should possess a deep understanding of design principles and a keen eye for detail. You are passionate about staying up-to-date with the latest design trends, Figma updates, and accessibility standards. A strong knowledge of iOS and Android native specificities - or a solid grasp of engineering concepts - is beneficial. As a strong communicator, you areable to effectively advocate for the design system within the organization. You enjoy sharing your knowledge and educating others, fostering a culture of design excellence.

Your key skills are:

• Experience working with a native application and its components across different platforms.

• Deep understanding of UI/UX principles, native applications and OS guidelines visual design, accessibility standards, and interaction design.

• Advanced skills in Figma and knowledge of design-to-development workflows (e.g., using Storybook, Token Studio, Jira and Github).

• Strong ability to collaborate and communicate with designers, developers, and stakeholders to advocate for the design system.

• A holistic approach to problem-solving, ensuring solutions align with the design system and overall product goals and development process.

• A rigorous focus on maintaining consistency and quality throughout the design system with high attention to detail.
