Storytel started in Sweden in 2005 and came to the Netherlands and Belgium in 2013. Storytel Netherlands is growing rapidly in listeners, in exclusive Storytel Original series and in the huge range of well-known titles, authors and narrators available on the app. For our exclusive audio productions - Storytel Original - we are looking for an Executive Producer with experience in managing creative projects and who has a large network in the Dutch creator market.

Who we are looking for

As Executive Producer you are part of the Content Development team and will work closely with your colleagues in Amsterdam as well as with your international colleagues and your direct manager, Head of Growth. You will establish and maintain Storytel as the partner of choice for creators and rights holders.

You have a passion for audio storytelling in general and for non-fiction in particular. You will manage all genres and formats with special focus on developing non-fiction and podcasts. You are driven by a strong interest in life's great stories, but you also know how to keep the productions running smoothly.Your role will be split between:

• creative development of new stories; developing and working with new formats; working with different authors, journalists and creators.

• expert daily handling and operations of different administration, scheduling and project management tasks.

We care deeply about ensuring quality and creating relevant content that speaks to the modern listener, so you must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. You are sociable, creative and can express your inclusive opinions well. You can tell a good story whether it’s through a podcast, audiobook or a unique audio format.

As an innovative and results driven person, you have a background in journalism, audio, tv or creative media industry. You can work independently and are great in a team. You have an extensive network, are confident when working with creators of all kinds and are happy to be hands-on when needed.

You have a significant understanding of audio as a medium and as an important player in both the media and publishing industries. Your knowledge of trends in audio, social and entertainment ensures you always commission the right stories for the right audiences.

Your work will include:

• Developing, sourcing, evaluating and commissioning audio content based on the publishing plan & budget prepared by the Catalogue Management team

• Ongoing relationship management and guidance for all creators including authors, narrators, rights holders, production teams etc.

• Developing new creator, talent and rights holder partnerships

• Managing production schedules & budgets, including business cases, to ensure all titles meet targets within Storytel's mission, strategy and budget

• Collaborating with internal & external teams to deliver all audio & associated assets in line with the publishing plan

• Briefing the Business Affairs team for all contract negotiation

• Project management of all Storytel Originals including regular updating of global admin processes and software

• Working with the Catalogue Management team to analyse and report on Storytel Original titles

• All other duties as required

We think that you

• Have a completed HBO or WO education, preferably connected to media, journalism or publishing.

• Have at least 3 years of relevant work experience (in content development is preferable)

• Have excellent knowledge of Biblio or similar digital workflow/asset management software

• Have a robust understanding of contract negotiation

• Are fluent in Dutch (native) and English (professional)

• Have knowledge of the Flemish market
