About the role

As the Global Retention Specialist, you are part of our Global CRM team that works extensively with all the countries in which Storytel operates and has the task of creating structures and work processes globally, as well as supporting the local markets with implementation and adaptation.

The position is responsible for managing marketing automation programs and working closely with both the local and global marketing teams as well as the content and technology teams to implement targeted conversion and customer retention program and strategies. The role will take the lead of managing the growth and development of Storytel global subscriber database and reporting on specific activities to deliver ROI and LTV analysis and results. This position will report to our Global CRM Manager and work closely with various internal stakeholders as well as our international local teams.


  • Develop, implement and manage conversion and retention-focused marketing automation campaigns and flows, with focus on automation strategies across a multi-channel structure. 
  • Communicate email marketing best practices (list building and management, segmentation, data governance, content).
  • Define measure and report key performance indicators and metrics for marketing programs.
  • Always taking a data driven approach together with our BI team.
  • Establish test plans, conduct test and continually improve upon communication and campaigns effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement customer life cycle programs (ie Welcome program, Loyalty program) to manage opportunities in support of business goals. 
  • Actively seek input from key stakeholders regarding new demand generation, lead management and campaign plan requirement. 
  • Develop and implement new marketing channels with the aim of increasing customer retention. 

Knowledge and skills

  • 5+ years work experience from similar roles
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Capability to measure, analyze and communicate ROI of marketing campaigns
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to requests with a wide degree of self-sufficiency
  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal, in both English and Swedish
  • Excellent skills in Excel and Powerpoint

Personal qualities

You have very strong project management skills and the ability and desire to learn quickly. You are a flexible and helpful initiative taker who is self-motivated and directed while also functioning and contributing as a part of a team. Your analytical skills are excellent and you are a proactive problem-solver with an investigating mind.

Storytel is an international company, so there might be a need for traveling.
