About the Team
The Data Science and Engineering domain is a central organization including Data Engineering, Machine learning, and Analytics. We are responsible for developing Storytel's data foundation, insights delivery mechanisms, self-service analytics, data and machine learning infrastructure, and data science capabilities.
Our technology stack includes but is not limited to BigQuery (SQL), Looker, dbt, and Google Cloud Platform and is currently being evolved with additional tooling and platforms to support the full data lifecycle management.
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Technical Product Manager to join our Data Science and Engineering domain and help drive the next generation of our distributed data products at Storytel. Your primary focus will be to simplify and accelerate the data experience at Storytel and offer a best-in-class experience to data consumers across the business.
As a Data Product Manager, you will play a critical role in driving our organization's development and management of data products. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, software developers, product leads, and business stakeholders, to define and execute the data product roadmap.
This role will be attached to the domain, reporting to the Director of Data Science and Engineering, but will be working closely with the Data Engineering team in the day-to-day operations and cross functionally across all data producers and consumers at Storytel.
Some other things you will do are:
- Develop a deep understanding across a variety of analytical use cases, ranging from product analytics to marketing performance optimization and external industry innovation to drive product vision and strategy for Storytel’s Data Platform to maximize business impact
- Establish and maintain a network of key stakeholders or business partners to define and prioritize the roadmap for the Data Platform
- Partner up with Product, Analytics, and Engineering teams to design and implement robust tracking mechanisms across data sources and systems
- Work closely with domain leadership in defining and measuring the impact, success, and effectiveness of the data products delivered
- Develop and establish data and event governance frameworks throughout the data product lifecycle together with the other team members
- Establish networks to ensure that feedback is captured across the data lifecycle to allow for an ongoing understanding of current problems and opportunities
About You
- A background in engineering (backend, data, or related), data analytics, or internal tooling product management
- 5+ years of experience in technical product management with several years of experience in a data-related role
- Deep understanding of the data product lifecycle management and familiarity with the data as a product paradigm
- A balanced mix of technical expertise, deep domain knowledge with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and high-impact outcomes
- Experience with event-tracking strategy development
- Experience in enforcing data governance frameworks ensuring data integrity and quality
- Strong communication skills to partner with stakeholders effectively and you can successfully bridge with non-technical audiences
- Deep interest and enthusiasm for working with data and are highly motivated to drive positive change in organizations through data-driven decision making
- Passionate about new technologies and keeping up to date with industry trends & innovations
Bonus if you have
- Knowledge of the evolving Modern Data Stack components
- Direct experience in working with event-tracking solutions
- Hands-on experience with successfully implementing data governance frameworks from scratch
