Director Commercial Strategy
Storytel is looking for a leader to manage the commercial strategy across the business. You will optimize our commercial capabilities, and employ strategies to maximize subscriber growth and profitability. You will oversee and develop Storytel’s commercial strategy, and more specifically pricing, packaging and promotions as well as payments optimization and market outlooks. You are an experienced commercial leader with strong analytical capabilities, who can develop best practices, and who is passionate about commercial excellence. This role requires commercial management experience, preferably within a subscription and/or streaming business.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
Develop Storytel’s commercial strategy together with senior management and key stakeholders across the organization, such as Regional Managers, Marketing Leaders, Product and Tech Teams, and our Finance organization.
Ensure commercial best practices are developed and shared across the organization, and act as a commercial sparring partner across the organization.
- Lead a Commercial Excellence team driving pricing, promotions and packaging
Maintain and develop Storytel’s commercial offer to assure both attractiveness and profitability across our markets
Lead pricing development and analysis across the Storytel organization; in tight coordination with regional and central teams develop best practices and frameworks, and assist with their implementation and continuous evaluation.
Analyze and develop Storytel’s promotional strategy and packaging. Working in close coordination with stakeholders across Storytel, design, develop and help implement impactful promotional strategies that drive successful customer acquisition efforts.
Conduct market research in the audiobook and spoken word audio industry and evaluate competitive threats, macro-economic data, new opportunities, and industry trends
Lead ad-hoc primary market research projects to support the Storytel organization, especially within the Marketing Function
Track, report on, and archive critical market data
Produce insightful market reports to maintain a high level of awareness of mission-critical market insights across the organization
- Lead a Monetization Excellence team focusing on payments optimization
Optimize best-in-class customer payment journey across channels and platforms and direct the commercial platform requirements to the chosen offering and campaign pricing & concepts strategy
Monitor overall performance within payments
Work cross-functionally, especially with our Marketing, Product and Tech teams, to support the implementation of payments solutions and lead the related performance measurements
Qualifications:
10+ years’ experience in relevant management / strategy consulting roles and/or general management
Experience in commercial management/strategy, preferably within a subscription and/or streaming business.
Demonstrated track-record of managing, building and scaling teams
MBA or equivalent
