We are looking for a Senior iOS Developer to join the Core Experience domain!

About the team

We work in small, cross-functional teams focused on delivering the most reliable and seamless audiobook and ebook experiences to millions of users. Developers collaborate closely with other developers, designers, researchers, product managers, and engineering managers to build end-to-end solution. Teams take responsibility for the whole cycle of development. From ideation to implementation, testing, and shipping.

The Core experience domain builds the core parts of our product, such as the audio player, reviews, search, and bookshelf for the Storytel Android and iOS apps, as well as apps for WearOS, Automotive OS, and the Storytel Reader.

We are as passionate about the customer experience as we are about the technologies that drive our product.

About you

You are an experienced iOS developer, motivated by solving problems in complex systems together with full-stack teams and getting involved in all of the stages of the development process.

You care about delivering high-quality products and supporting others to maintain a high standard.

You understand agile principles and apply them to deliver a project in incremental phases.

You have ambitions in technical leadership, ready to mentor more junior developers and be a role model.

In addition, you also:

• Write readable, maintainable and performant code.

• Have a deep understanding of modern iOS development. Comfortable with Swift and Objective C, iOS development fundamental, UIKit, AutoLayout, and Foundation.

• Have a passion for writing testable code and ensuring critical logic has unit and integration test coverage.

• Have experience with integrating REST API endpoints.

• Keep up to date with the latest best practices, common frameworks, and tools.

• Enjoy learning as well as teaching others. See best practices applied by educating, workshopping, pair programming, and other similar activities involving your co-workers.

• Are used to the code reviewing process, and understand that reviewing is as important as writing code.

• Have a methodical approach to debugging and fixing problems in distributed systems.

• Are comfortable with experimenting and exploring new domains, both in business and technology.

• Have an interest in our product and in helping our customers enjoy audio stories anytime, anywhere.
